01 · The brief

The challenge

Dawnmarie needed a website that felt warm and trustworthy for clients dealing with trauma, grief, and major life transitions. The site needed safety-conscious features for DV survivors while communicating her forward-focused coaching philosophy. The design had to feel personal and approachable — not clinical or corporate.

02 · The response

The solution

I organized the experience around six recognizable life situations, with a discreet Quick Exit, crisis resources, and a free first-step guide kept within reach. A custom lotus identity, warm plum-and-lavender palette, and gentle interactive storytelling present Dawnmarie’s lived experience with care—personal and credible without feeling clinical.

What had to work

Care had to be visible in the structure.

This was not a conventional coaching brochure. Safety controls, service clarity, useful resources, and a warm personal voice all needed to work together without making the experience feel clinical.

Safety by design

Important safeguards are part of the interface rather than buried in a policy page.

  • QuickExit button for DV survivor safety — double-press Escape to instantly leave the site
  • HotlineTabs component with tabbed crisis resource information
  • FAQ page with category-based filtering

A path that feels personal

Visitors can recognize their situation and move toward useful support at their own pace.

  • 6 service offering pages with detailed pain points, support descriptions, and target audience
  • Interactive testimonial theater with carousel display
  • Blog with Astro content collections

A complete brand system

Original interaction, identity, and publishing systems make the experience feel intentionally hers.

  • 10 interactive React components including HeroDiorama, ServiceSlideshow, CoachingProcess, TestimonialTheater, and InteractiveFaq
  • Frosted glass visual effects throughout the site
  • Newsletter signup popup for email list building
  • Custom SVG lotus flower branding woven into the design

Safety-conscious experience

Warm enough to invite trust. Careful enough to deserve it.

The visual language stays calm and human while the underlying experience gives vulnerable visitors a fast exit, relevant crisis resources, and six clear ways to recognize the support they need.
